The Tamiya 1/48 "Light Vehicle" included in the U.S. Army Infantry at Rest set is very nice. And tiny aplauso It will be fun to do.

MensajeTema: Re: Crusader MK.1   Jue 23 Ago 2007, 9:50 am

John,

Just four things for you today:

1) Believe it or not but someone mentioned yesterday -and he is right somehow- RYC is having on you one member entering the Nats, so you must know that is a BIG responsability and you have all our hopes when going there, so we all will support you this weekend -even if you are entering those weird things with wings Evil or Very Mad - and will keep our fingers crossed for you. pirat

2) By the way, Could you complete your Fokker on time or will you have a sleepless night today to finsh it?... Shocked

3) Take care of your credit card when walking into vendors room. Flesh is weak and Temptation is strong... Twisted Evil

4) Have you realized you are having a long historial here and your post is receiving lots of replies but you have not even cut off one part form the sprue yet? Shocked That means you will have to work harder once you get back to us next week.

May the Force be with you amigo. pena
Lu

PS: If you pick the GMC up you will not regret it at all. It is a fantastic model despite of whatever negative you can hear about it. FYI I am not planning to load it so much indeed. Perhaps I will put one messy folded tarp on the cargo bed floor or so... lets see what I make finally.

Hi John

As they say, you have white letter, jejeje... don't worry about the quantity of pictures, if they are few they are placed in the web and if they are many it was also placed... space is enough... and the main thing... thank you

MensajeTema: R.Y.C. Represent!   Vie 24 Ago 2007, 12:50 am

Thank you, Sergio and Lu, And to all who have been stopping by aplauso aplauso

I will take many pictures as I always do, see responce 3

Lu, I have answered your questions in order........

1 Someone mentioned me? I appreciate you guy and your support, so I am trying extra hard to win Glory. sun

2 No sleep, not tonite. The model will be done in time for the show. I need to finish up a few things but it's mostly ready. As long as I do not do anything stupid pena

3 You may have seen the earlier photo of all the stuff that followed me home from the Nats. I try to stay in the show room, taking pictures. This keeps me away from the dealer room. I have no will power, as you say the flesh is weak. The Scary thing is I know that Saturday afternoon stuff goes on sale, so the dealers like HLJ do not have to ship it back!

4 Yes it's very interesting. Hopefully the build will be as interesting as my putting it off has been lol!

So the estimate is 2000 models at the show as of Thursday night. Friday is the BIG day. They are expecting twice that number! I hope so!

Okay , breaks over, back to work.....I need one of those big energy drinks like Andres has in his photo Twisted Evil I will post more tomorrow night.....

Rock on, Amigos sun sun sun sun sun sun sun sun sun sun sun

MensajeTema: The Haul   Mar 28 Ago 2007, 12:55 am

Thank You, Thank You, ala ala ala ala

The Vendor room list pena Most of this stuff was in the earlier photo pena

1/35 Voyager "Luxury" P/E set for the Tamiya Leopard 2A6

1/48 Tamiya U.S Army Infantry at rest. The 1/48 Jeep is in here clown clown

1/48 Tamiya Crusader MK.III A/A Tank

1/48 Eduard Bf 111 E, Comes with a resin Dachshund that would be perfect for one of my German Tanks sun

1/48 Eduard Avia B. 534 III. Series. Beautiful, though obscure.

1/72 Fine Molds Y Wing Fighter. I have 3 now, I will do one in each paint scheme......I love these!!

I bought a couple of Hemostats to help with rigging the Fokker, some new Tweezers, and Resin 5 piece Gun cowls for FW 190 D-9's from Eagle Editions.

I also was given some Mini-Art figures when I visited Dragon-Expo which was there with the Nats. I may be building some of there stuff for Display/Box Art.

The show was a lot of fun. There were a LOT of really nice models. Not as many as I had stated in an earlier post......That was mis-information posted by one of my fellow Club members...... Although 2100 model total may be close to the exact number.

Ok, The Fokker......I did not get it done Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad I tried but at some point I had to sleep......caffine is only good for so much Evil or Very Mad It is close though. needs a few little things detailed and weathering, it's way to brite right now!! Each of those blue stripes on the Wings are individual decals Twisted Evil It took eight hours to put them all on and line them up!! I had no idea, and that pretty much killed my time table......
Anyway I worked on it right up to the point that I had to leave to enter my other models. I cut it very close. And it was a good thing I stopped, it would have been a shame if my other models got left out.

The photo's should be posted soon. Forgive me there poor quality, the lighting was very bad in the model room. I tried to get something for everyone, though. There were just too many to choose from.......

I had a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to next year in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
So I invite you Gentlemen to join me there in 2008. Should be a great party! I'll buy the first round of Energy Drinks.......

Cheers,
John

MensajeTema: Wings   Miér 29 Ago 2007, 8:49 pm

Hi David,
Thank you, My friend. pena
The wings are done with Decals. I wish I could take credit for that but it would not be true. sa There are people who DO paint this pattern on.....I may try it in a larger scale, but decals are OK for the small ones.
Cheers,
John

MensajeTema: So It Begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Jue 30 Ago 2007, 1:53 am

Ha!, Finally the day has arrived My Friends,

First I cut all the Track/Wheels from there sprues. I keep them in marked trays till they are ready for assymble. I mark the Specific parts that may get confused, as you can see. The trays have a color code as well, I mark the sticks I mount the parts on during painting with matching color, so I know where they belong. I still need to clean them up....Even as small as these tracks are the still have ejector pin marks Neutral Nothing to do but fix them.......

Hull now!

First I sand most of the Primer away to get a good bond.

Then after lightly scoring the back of the part, it is attached with the CA (Super) glue.

After both ends are in place, I used Polyester Putty to tighten the gaps.....

The Primer has been scraped away from the rear Axle mounts, ready for the part.

There You have it, Forward Progress :rend: Stay Tuned!!

Cheers,
John
