Dear Mr. Hoffman,

Just want to remind you a new week starts and at this rate this construction group will end up before you realize it. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Now seriously. I also took a look at your beautifull KV-2 at the gallery and believe it is a very good model indeed. Honestly I think you are one good and brave modeller because your model is carefully painted plus not many modellers would dare to sunk it in the mud as you did. Well done and no doubt about your modelling nuts. Razz

Sorry to say because I do not want to push you so much (actually I really want to Twisted Evil ) but now I am having high expectations of your Crusader.

Come on, fun is waiting here. Don´t be late, okay?

Andres and Lu,
Thanks for the kind words about the KV II!
I am glad you are pushing clown I have a big plan and I can not say it will be as good as the KV, but I will certainly try. Yesterday I received one of the referance books I need, still have to run down the other..........

The big problem is I need to finish the model I am building for the Nationals. It is a 1/48 Fokker D.VII with lots of scratch built stuff. It is a big job and I am running out of time. Sorry, it has wings pena I build planes, Too.

I will start the Crusader soon, I have been itching to work on it. I will make the deadline!! sun

Cheers,
John

MensajeTema: Nationals   Lun 20 Ago 2007, 7:04 pm

Thank you, Luis. I am very excited, this is my first Nationals.
The Kv II and my little Panther G are going to be entered.
One problem is that 1/48 kits will have to compete with 1/35. Mad The Panther won Best Armor at Orangecon last year, so it can compete, but it should not have to!
I/48 kits seem to be popular here in California, but not so much elsewhere in the States, so IPMS USA does not have a seperate category for them yet.
hopefully all the 1/48 Tanks I have seen at local shows will show up here and they will split the category.
Cheers,
John

John,

Amigo, no problem if you delay a bit more I see you are quite busy with your other things. Laughing

Are you entering the Nats you said?.... Do you mean Anaheim Nats in California? The show starts TOMORROW, right?. I am sorry for you but you will not sleep today because you have to finsih your models on time... Twisted Evil

By the way if you are attending there I guess you will have a chance to meet T48 residents too. If so, please say hi! for me to my dear Konrad Schreier, please.

- - - - - - - -

Okay lets see if I could get the right meaning of your words. You already have one book featuring 250 walkaround pictures and you are still waiting for one more book for your Crusader? You are kidding me right?. I start concencing now wondering what do you want to know about that tank that own Crusader designers could never knew... Shocked

You will see how much we will enjoy from now once I traslate that to your fellow modellers here... hehe... Twisted Evil

- - - - - - - -

Ohhhh... that weird winged thing looks great to be one LEGO aircraft. Okay, sorry, sorry, sorry.... ala

- - - - - - - -

Good work on the Dora. Is that the Tamiya kit?. You will not believe this (The following thing is TOP Secret okay?-->) but I also make ACs from time to time oopppssss.... Shocked and this morning I was taking a look at Tamiya D9 on-line and seemed one good candidate to become one of my future victims... who knows becasue I might have others though.

Anyway I see you paid great attention to details painting your Dora and particularly like earth/mud accumulation on tail and -a very nice touch indeed- the gun smoke screen on landing gear covers. Many modellers miss those kind of details when it comes to make ACs, not mention display base which always is added value to our models.

For all the above things, please accept my honest congratulations.

Dese duro and good luck at the show.
Lu

MensajeTema: No sleep.........   Mar 21 Ago 2007, 6:59 am

Hi Lu,

Yes you are Correct, the show starts Tomorrow. The entry Deadline is 1700 Friday.........so I have a little time. That plane is killing me though!!!

I know Konrad. I will say Hi when I see him, no fear.

As you say, The Crusader book is very nice. It will serve me well when i go to work on the other Crusaders.....There is ONLY 2 (!) photos of the tank I plan to build. What I am after is the very early Operation Battle Axe version. Which brings us to the other book. There is a book on the Caunter scheme with color chips Cool I tend to go overboard with referance books...... .I am sure you do not know anything about that monkey I think I have 7-8 books on the Panther......

I Love the Dora's!! Yes that is the tamiya kit, built box stock. I wanted to enter it in the Tamiya -Con, and i did not know how strict they were about additions in that class, so no antenna wire. I am glad you like the weathering. It has been well received, but a lot of Aircraft guy's get twitchy about simulated dirt on planes.

I know you like bases, and I agree pena I try and work something in for most of my models. Here is another Example

http://hsfeatures.com/features04/xwingjh_1.htm

And i will keep that Airplane thing you told me Secret....... lol!

Best Regards,
John
